New industrial commercial and youth training centre - Sigirino
The project consists of the creation of a multi-purpose centre for training young people in close contact with the world of ice, snow and cycling.
The complex is designed to be completely free of architectural barriers and is composed of a sports and training part and an industrial and commercial part.
Generale Prefabbricati manufactured and supplied the prefabricated structures for the building, which has a total area of 35,000 m2 and, amongst other activities, it will house a velodrome, an ice hockey rink, a curling rink and fields for other sports activities.
The one piece roofing beams of the velodrome (42 m long and 80 tons in weight) are of particular interest, among the first in Europe not made of steel or laminated wood, the same as those below the velodrome for the roof of the ice hockey rink, 36 m long and 70 tons in weight, transported with a special convoy at night from our Basaluzzo factory to the construction site.
