This ambitious and challenging project consisted in the construction of the garage and pedestrian tunnel. The floor plan of the various levels, covering a total area of 5800 sq.m, features an irregular pentagon shape. This design posed significant challenges during the planning and construction phases due to the need to respect and work around existing structures. One of the major concerns was the nearby church of S. Maria Novella, whose delicate framework and frescoes could not withstand any vibrations.

The work commenced only after confirming the absence of archaeological artefacts in the excavation area, a determination made through meticulous core drilling. Successfully completed within the designated 9-month timeframe, the project, led by Paolo Felli in collaboration with J. Yunessi, seamlessly integrated into the intricate contextual balance, preserving the architectural language of the square designed by Michelucci.
